Several women hold banners and pennants reading: "Ohio Branch, WMMS, 1915," "Roanoke District," "Baltimore," "Philadelphia, Pa.," "WPMMS '09" and "Richmond District." Stamped on front: "H.C. Jackson, Detroit." Card affixed to front reads [sic]: "The Eighth Biennial Convention of the Michigan State Federation of Afro-American Women will convene at Detroit in Bethel A.M.E. Church, July the 22nd, 23rd and 24th, 1913. Mrs. Lucy Thurman, President. Mrs. P. Lea Verne Waters, Cor. Sec'y."
