Somewhere in England, the U.S. Army 9th Air Force maintains a waterproofing school where soldier mechanics are taught to treat vehicles in order that they may travel through fairly deep water without stalling. Asbestos compound is applied to the motor and other vital parts which might be damaged by immersion in fresh or sea water. 'Kitty,' a waterproofed jeep undergoes a rigid test in a 'wading stream.'"
