BW-23591. Boeing B-29 Superfortresses are assembled in these huge bays at Boeing Airplane Company in Wichita, Kansas. Each assembly bay is 300 feet wide. In the foreground workmen are installing the fuselage capstrip on a giant B-29 inboard wing section. Farther along the assembly line the various subassembled wing and fuselage sections are brought together in the final assembly area, then the bombers are moved out the doors at the rear.
