View of tablet dedicated to Clarence Monroe Burton located at the entrance to the Burton Historical Collection, Detroit Public Library. Inscription reads: "In honor of Clarence Monroe Burton, a citizen of Detroit, his genius and interest lay in the collection of the original source of the history of this city and state and of the Northwest Territory. Having devoted a lifetime of effort to this work he presented the results of his interest and industry to his fellow citizens. Anno Domini MCMXXI." Typed on back: "Detroit Public Library. Burton memorial tablet." Stamped on back: "Manning Bros., commercial photographers, 504-505 Lincoln Building, corner State and Park Sts., Detroit, Mich."
