Andretti, who successfully defended his United States Auto Club championship car title, has been honored by Ford Division as the man who did the most for the sport in 1966. In addition to the silver bowl he holds here, Andretti received a 1967 Thunderbird. The 26-year-old Italian-born Andretti won eight championship car races this season and set a host of track records. He also was active in stock car and sports car racing. Andretti received his award at the annual Ford Motorsports Banquet.
