View of spectators surrounding Maxwell cars at New Albany, Indiana during the 1912 Glidden Tour. Two boys stand with bicycles. Although the official 1912 Glidden Tour was canceled, Charles Glidden led a caravan over the identical route that had been originally planned, from Detroit, Michigan to New Orleans, Louisiana. Stamped on back: "Spooner & Wells, Inc., photographers, 1231 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Mich., telephone North 1745." Handwritten on back: "Glidden tourists at New Albany, Ind., 1912. Tours--Glidden Tour, 1912."
