Although the official 1912 Glidden Tour was canceled, Charles Glidden led a caravan over the identical route that had been originally planned, from Detroit, Michigan to New Orleans, Louisiana. Handwritten on back: "A gate to open on the road, out of Greenwood, a small stretch of better road, Glidden Tour, 1912. Tours--Glidden Tour, 1912."
