View of motorists with cars on rural dirt road in Tennessee during the 1912 Glidden Tour. Maxwell car on left. Although the official 1912 Glidden Tour was canceled, Charles Glidden led a caravan over the identical route that had been originally planned, from Detroit, Michigan to New Orleans, Louisiana. Stamped on back: "Spooner & Wells, Inc., photographers, 1231 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Mich., telephone North 1745." Handwritten on back: "Glidden tourists on Tennessee roads, Glidden Tour, 1912. Tours--Glidden Tour, 1912."
