Rear view of motorists with Premier car using stones to jack up car during the pathfinding expedition for the 1908 Glidden Tour. Typed on back: "Rocky route. Every type of motoring condition, from flood to sand storm, usually was encountered by the pathfinding crew that mapped the routes for Glidden tours. Manufacturers bid for privilege of having their makes used, as pathfinding trips provided grueling experience for testing ruggedness of models. Above is American Automobile Association's official pathfinder crew in typical predicament of trying to jack up wheels with stones." Handwritten on back: "Premier.
