Description
View from South Corona Gate of Ford Exposition building at the New York World's Fair. Plaza decorated with flags and sculpture "Sampson and the Lion" by Benjamin Hawkins. Pedestrians and ticket booth in foreground. Typed on back: "First glimpse of the New York World's Fair. Visitors to the New York World's Fair get this view as they enter the South Corona Gate. Straight ahead of them is located the Ford Exposition, termed 'the most beautiful building at the Fair.' The all-glass entrance facade of the Ford Building rises to a height of 74 feet. At night it pours forth a brilliant light from 780 flourescent [sic] tubes located behind the glass panels, presenting a dominant note to that immediate section of the Transportation Area."
