Description
View of Alice Potter and three women passengers posing in Haynes car. "Four ladies in a Haynes from Chicago to New York" sign displayed on rear passenger door. Typed on back: "Women drivers have been the inspiration for many mechanical and styling improvments in the automobile. In the early days, open carriage automobiles gave way to the enclosed body largely through feminine influence. The self-starter gave early women motoring enthusiasts new independence and convenience. In recent years powered and automatic controls have greatly increased driving ease and comfort for the ladies." Handwritten on back: "Haynes. 1908, women influence."
