View of Carol Burkheiser of Plymouth's styling department, displaying interior upholstery fabric over rear of 1956 Plymouth car. Burkheiser holds a "V" emblem for the trunk lid. Typed on back: "Paralleling the styling development work on body exteriors, interior stylists are hard at work on car appointments--new fabric patterns are created, supplier mills and consulted on their production, instrument panels ar designed and color combinations worked out. As soon as inside body dimensions have been finalized after tryouts on the 'seating buck' (wood replica of car's interior), shapes of seats, arm rests, etc., and their trim treatments are worked out. Carol Burkheiser of the styling department is shown with a new interior upholstery fabric featuring metallic threads interwoven through a dark rayon-cotton background. She holds one of several proposed "V" emblems for 1956 Plymouth trunk lid. Final version is mounted on plastic full-scale 'mock-up' in foreground." Handwritten on back: "Plymouth, design, 1956."
