Assembly workers at Ford Motor Company's Dearborn Assembly Plant put the finishing touches on the first of 11,000 limited-edition versions of the Mustang selected to pace the 1979 Indianapolis International 500 auto race. Introduced on April 17, 1964, Mustang paced the 1964 Indianapolis 500 and is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a return to the track this year.
