Typed on back: "Two Italian representatives in the New York to Paris race, Emilio Sartori, driver, and Antonio Scarfoglio, mechanic. While they lagged twelve days behind the Thomas in getting to the coast, the Zust crew men were hailed as heroes by a large delegation from the Italian Club in Los Angeles. The Zust had a 30 h.p. motor, a frame filled with soft wood, springs wrapped in cord, and was chain-driven." Handwritten on back: "Won by Thomas Flyer. Races and racing--New York to Paris, 1908."
