Arthur Klein
Portrait of Arthur Klein. Typed on back: "Arthur Klein, driver of the King Oriole which he entered in the Indianapolis 500 mile race after superintending the construction of the car from the start. Mr. Klein is truly the 'Dark Horse' of the race and in his training at the track has taken the 'Rail Birds' by storm through the speed he has shown in taking the banks, oftentimes entering the dangerous turns at 90 miles and more per hour. Klein, in answer to all questions, invariably replied that it was the cantilever springs in the rear, a feature of the King touring car, that were responsible, and so enthusiastic was young Mr. Klein about this feature of his car that he became known as 'Kantilever Klein' before he had been at the track very long." Handwritten on back: "Biography--Klein, Arthur."
