Cy Patschke driving Marmon racecar
View of Cy Patschke driving Marmon racecar. Printed on front: "Foltz." Typed on back: "Savannah, Ga. Skidding the turns is one of the little afternoon games now in vogue in Savannah. The famous race drivers in training for the Vanderbilt and Grand Prize races on Nov. 27 and 30 are the players and they seem to enjoy the sport thoroughly, although the spectators heave little sighs of relief after the turn has been negotiated safely. This picture shows Cy Patschke in his Marmon racing car taking the turn from LaRoche avenue into Dale avenue on the Grand Prize course at about sixty miles an hour. Patschke and Joe Dawson, his Marmon team mate, try to outstrip each other in taking the dangerous bends at high speed, but the score keeps about even. Two Marmon cars are entered in the Savannah Challenge race, the Vanderbilt and the Grand Prize. Patschke and Dawson will pilot them through all three events."
