Solly Hofman
Grab
Description
Portrait of Solly Hofman, baseball player for the Chicago Cubs. Printed on back: "Arthur F. Hoffman [sic], centerfielder, is a player of ability as shown by the fact that he has beaten such a good ball player as Slagle for the positon he now holds. When "Rip Van" first came to Chicago he was used as utility man and when Slagle was injured he stepped into the latter's positon. Manager Chance thought so much of his work that he was kept there. Hoffman [sic] lead the batting list of the "Cubs," being a good waiter and is fast getting to first base. Copyrighted and published by A.C. Dietsche, Detroit, Mich., 1907."
