In organized ball since 1937, beginning with Chattanooga of the Southern League, then switching to Jacksonville of the Sally League. Came into the majors with the Senators in 1939. With them 2 seasons. Then sent to the White Sox. With Chicago, 1941-1948. Traded back to Senators in December 1948. Joe had a 14-6 record in the 1947 season.
