Bats: left. Throws: right. One of the top catchers of the American League. In 116 games for the world champion Yanks. Batted .277, and drove in 91 runs. 'Yogi' hailed from the Missouri sandlots. First played professionally with Norfolk. Joined Newark in 1946; up to Yanks at end of that season. In 1948 played mostly in outfield. Two years in service.
