Weight: 165. Bats: right. Throws: right. Began 1949 with the Cubs' Los Angeles farm team, and hit .278 in 155 games. The parent team brought him up for the last 36 games of the season. He batted .233. Was signed by the Cubs in 1948 after starring at shortstop at Western Michigan University. With Los Angeles he was rated as one of the best defensive second basemen in the Coast League. No. 114 in the 1950 series of baseball picture cards.
