View of bronze relief plaque with portrait of Cy Young. Text on plaque reads: "Denton T. (Cy) Young. Cleveland (N) 1890-98. St. Louis (N) 1899-1900. Boston (A) 1901-08. Cleveland (A) 1909-11. Boston (N) 1911. Only pitcher in first hundred years of baseball to win 500 games. Among his 511 victories were 3 no-hit shutouts. Pitched perfect game May 5, 1904, no oppoisng batsman reaching first base." Printed on back: "Base ball was invented in Cooperstown, New York, by Abner Doubleday and first played in this village in 1839. The National Base Ball Museum and Hall of Fame and Doubleday Field are maintained here as a shrine to the national game. Pub. by National Base Ball Museum."
