Holds two American League records, making 257 hits in 1920 and batting .41979 in 1922. Retired with major league average of .341. Credited with being one of best two fielding first basemen in history of game." Printed on back: "Base ball was invented in Cooperstown, New York, by Abner Doubleday and first played in this village in 1839. The National Base Ball Museum and Hall of Fame and Doubleday Field are maintained here as a shrine to the national game. Pub. by National Base Ball Museum."
