Had an earned run average of 3.13, sixth lowest in the League. Began in organized baseball in 1934. With Cards briefly in 1938, and back again in 1939. With them until jumping to the Mexican League. Reinstated in 1949, and had a 5-4 record for Cards. Back in 1943 Max won 15 while losing only 7. That year his earned run average was 1.90. No. 230 in the 1951 series baseball picture cards.
