View of bronze relief plaque with portrait of Morgan G. Bulkeley, president of the National League. Text on plaque reads: "Hon. Morgan G. Bulkeley. First president of the National League and a leader in its organization in 1876 which laid the foundation of the national game for posterity." Printed on back: "Base ball was invented in Cooperstown, New York, by Abner Doubleday and first played in this village in 1839. The National Base Ball Museum and Hall of Fame and Doubleday Field are maintained here as a shrine to the national game. Pub. by National Base Ball Museum."
