Last year batted .295 in 95 games. Played four years in minor leagues before he got a real chance to win a place in the big league. Went up to Washington Senators in 1921. Traded to Athletics the next year. Went to St. Louis in 1926, but went back to Athletics to stay in 1928. Born on ranch at Vinton, Ia., in 1894. Is a right-hander, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. This is one of a series of 240 baseball stars. Big League chewing gum, Goudey Gum Co., Boston.
