Hassan Triple Folders (T202) series. Printed on front: "Harry McIntire, Cubs; Jas. P. Archer, Cubs." Printed on back: "James P. Archer. Jimmy Archer, with his famous whip, is the Cubs' mainstay behind the bat. He started as outfielder in Fargo, but taking catcher's place when with Atlanta, he showed so well that he was made a regular backstop. The Detroits had him in 1907, but let him go to Buffalo, from which team the Cubs got him. In 1911 in 112 games he fielded .977 and batted .253. Chance beats out a hit. Frank Chance has just beaten out a hit, as seen in the picture. Like most of the fans' favorites, in private life he is one of the most retiring and unassuming of men; but once he gets into his baseball togs and on the diamond he is a hard fighter and magnetic leader. Fresno, Cal., the land of grapes and wine, was his birthplace in 1877. He attended the University of Washington in that State for a time; but the lure of the diamond got him, and he joined the Chicago Nationals in 1899. He has been with that team ever since. Credit is due Chance for having landed the Cubs second in 1911, with his pitching corps shot to pieces and his famous infield broken up. Factory no. 30, 2d. dist. N.Y. Harry McIntire. Harry McIntire commenced playing professional ball with Dayton, Ohio, and after a varied experience in the minors and with Brooklyn, became a member of the Cubs' pitching staff in 1910 and succeeded in turning in 13 wins. His batting average that year was better than that of most pitchers. In 1911 he won 11 games out of 18. Hassan cork tip cigarettes, the Oriental smoke."
