Started professional career in Texas League after starring in City League in Houston. Went to St. Louis Cardinals in 1928, but didn't win a regular place until 1930. Last year caught 103 games, batting .284. Traded to New York Giants, October, 1932. Born in Galveston, Texas, 1905. Bats and throws right-handed, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs around 170 pounds.
