Charley O'Leary posed with hands on knees. Handwritten on card front, in faded white ink: "Charles O'Leary, s.s." Printed on card back: "Charles O'Leary, shortstop, is a Chicago boy. He was given a trial with the White Sox in 1901, his first professional engagement. During 1902 and 1903 he played with Des Moines of the Western League, and was purchased from them by Detoit. He is one of the best all-around shortstops in the American League and a star player. Copyrighted and published by A.C. Dietsche, Detroit, Mich., 1907." Handwritten on card back: "Thurs. Oct. 29 '08. 5.30p.m. Well how is everything? Got a postal from E. Mitchell this a.m. and he wants me to go over this Friday. He must be anxious to have me go over. Walk[ed] down to the depot and around tonight. Just got back. Everything O.K. Thinking of going to show tomorrow night. With love. E.A.S." Card is postmarked October 29, 1908.
