Davy Jones at bat
Davy Jones posed at bat. Handwritten on card front, in faded white ink: "David Jones, left fielder." Printed on card back: "David Jones, left fielder, got his base ball start with the Dixon, Wis., college team in 1901. He has played with Milwaukee, the St. Louis Browns and Chicago Nationals. He was purchased from Minneapolis in 1905 by the Detroit Club. Jones is a remarkable fast sprinter. He leads off for Detroit at the bat. Copyrighted and published by A.C. Dietsche, Detroit, Mich., 1907." Handwritten on card back: "Wed. Nov. 18/08 8.00a.m. Well, how is everything today? I wrote you last night telling you that a fellow can play football when he is 21.
