One of the new members of the Washington Senators is John Thomas Stone, who has been playing the outfield with the Detroit Tigers for the past 5 years. Stone hails from Mulberry, Tenn., where he was born in 1906. He was grabbed by the Tigers in 1928 after leaving Marysville College. He was farmed out to Evansville, Ill. but recalled at the end of the season. He is a left-handed batter, although he throws right-handed. Last year with Detroit, Stone batted .280. He is a six-footer, tipping the scales at ... pounds. Lou Gehrig by arrangement with Christy Walsh. This is one of the 1934 series of pictures of Big League baseball stars. Collect the entire series.
