Was born in Temple, Okla., Feb. 29, 1904, and started his professional career at the age of 20 with Greenville in the East Texas League. Went up to the Cardinals in 1928, batting .308 in 39 games. Played in Houston 1929, Rochester in 1930. Has been with St. Louis ever since. Last year played 85 games and batted .238. A right-hander in batting and throwing, 5 feet, 8 inches in height and weighs 170 pounds. Has played both infield and outfield. This is one of a series of 240 baseball stars.
