Closeup of plaque honoring Larry Lajoie's 1937 induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Text on plaque reads: "Napoleon (Larry) Lajoie. Philadelphia (N) 1896-1900. Philadelphia (A) 1901. Cleveland (A) 1902-14. Philadelphia (A) 1915-1916. Great hitter and most graceful and effective second-baseman of his era. Managed Cleveland 4 years. League batting champion 1902-03-04." Printed on card back: "Base ball was invented in Cooperstown, New York, by Abner Doubleday and first played in this village in 1839. The National Base Ball Museum and Hall of Fame and Doubleday Field are maintained here as a shrine to the national game. Pub. by National Base Ball Museum."
