He played eight years with the N.Y. Giants and is now in his eighth season with the St. Louis Cardinals. He came out of the 1933 season as one of the two best fielding second basemen in the League. Infielding is his specialty and for sixteen years he has been playing either shortstop or second base. His average for 1933 was .982. He was born in New York City in 1898. He is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs around 165 pounds. He bats both right and left-handed but throws right-handed. Last year he batted .302 in 147 games. In 1933 he was appointed manager of the Cardinals to succeed Charles Street. This is one of the 1934 series of pictures of Big League baseball stars. Collect the entire series.
