After stacking up a record as leading batter of the National League with most hits, most doubles and most home runs, with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1933, Chuck Klein was traded to the Chicago Cubs in November for Koenig, Kleinhans, Hendrick and cash estimated at $65,000. His batting average for 1933 was .368. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind. in 1905. He is six feet tall and weighs around 185 pounds. He bats left-handed and throws right-handed. He began his professional career in the Three-I League in 1927 and went to the Phillies in mid-season of 1928. In 1932 he added to his other laurels with the record of most stolen bases in the National League. This is one of the 1934 series of pictures of Big League baseball stars. Collect the entire series.
