Several people stand by picket fence and wooden sidewalk in front of two-story brick house with 1 1/2 story clapboard house abutting. Older man and woman stand behind fence; two women in bustled dresses stand in front of fence; girl in pinafore stands by gate. Emulsion lifting and flaking. Irregular black border on glass negative. Also have print from negative. Handwritten on albumen print mat front: "The brick house. Home of William and Sarah Boden in late 50's and 60's. 13 Washington Blvd.-where Himilhoch's store stands." Handwritten on print mat back: "Residence of Wm. Boden. 13 Washington Ave. at Grand Circus Park, Detroit, Michigan. The sight [site] of the 'Washington Arc.' now Himilhoch's store. Oct. 1943. Taken about 1871. Those in the photograph are: Wm. Boden, Sara Boden (Louise's great-great-aunt and -uncle); Fannie Praigg (Louise's peternal grandmother); Bell Praigg (Fannie's sister); Mary Willover-Burston, about 11 yrs. old (Louise's 2nd cousin)."
