View of the First Baptist Church at the northwest corner of Fort and Griswold, known as the second brick Baptist church in Detroit, it was dedicated in 1863 and was sold in about 1872. Also have print from negative. Printed on albumen cabinet card back: "J.E. Watson, Grand Central Gallery, 41, 43 Monroe Ave., Detroit, Mich." Handwritten on albumen cabinet card back: "2nd brick bldg. of 1st Baptist Church. N.W. cor Griswold and Fort. 1870." Recorded in glass negative ledger: "D/Churches-Baptist-First (N.W. cor. Fort & Griswold)."
