Stamped on cabinet card back: "W.H. Flynn, real estate, 727 Chamber of Commerce, phone M 2088, Detroit." Typed on label on cabinet card back: "Southeast corner Farmer and John R Streets. House built about 1811." Newspaper article on duplicate cabinet card back: "A landmark going. The old Flynn place to give way to a business block. One of the oldest houses in Detroit, a little frame building one story and a half high, on the southeast corner of John R Street and Barclay Place, will be torn down next week to make room for the erection of a five-story, $10,000 business block by W.H. Flynn, assistant county treasurer, who inherited the property from his father, Hugh Flynn, some years ago. The house was built in 1823 by Phyllis Chapoton, a widow, who sold it to Mr. Flynn in 1843." Handwritten on cabinet card back: "Aug. 27/91 [on article]. 223."
