Description
Wharf on the Detroit River, three men on a pier and one in a racing scull are in the foreground. The roundhouse containing the reservoir for the city waterworks is in the background. The roundhouse was completed in 1838 and used until 1860, the building was torn down in 1866. Handwritten on front: "Old City Waterworks in distance." Recorded in lantern slide ledger: "D/River-view-docks-man in racing shell-Old City Water Works."
