View of the Lewis Cass residence on Larned Street, between First and Second, it is believed to have been built in 1703, and was demolished in 1882. Street Railway office next door, visible in glass negative and print of same image. Stamped on albumen cabinet card back: "From Jex Bardwell, 28 Cass St., Detroit." Handwritten on cabinet card back: "Macomb House. From the collection of Robert L. Stanton (b. 10 Jun 1846 in Fort Hamilton, King, NY - d. 17 May 1932 inGrosse Ile.) Godson of Robert Henry Whiting Stanton and Alexandrine Macomb. Her father Gen. Alexander Macomb was born in this house." Photographer Jex Bardwell." Recorded in lantern slide ledger: "D/Houses-Cass, Gen. Lewis, residence-erected 1703?"
