Printed on stereocard back: "Photographic sketches in and about the city of Detroit consisting of street and marine views, public buildings, churches, monumental and other objects of interest, photographed and published by Jex Bardwell." Typed on back: "First Presbyterian, or First Protestant Society Church at Farmer and Gratiot, (site of Hudson store) in 1874." Handwritten on back: "1857." Two dates written on card, 1857 and 1874.
