Students of Detroit Teachers College
Group portrait of young women wearing hats and coats standing outside of building. Letter accompanying photograph: "This is a photograph of the graduation class of the Det. Trs. Col. June 1924. The setting is the headquarters of the Woman's Benefit Assoc. in Port Huron. The occasion was a week-end party held at the summer camp of the W.B.F. on Lake Huron during the week-end preceding Decoration Day at which time the club was opened for the season. The trip to Port Huron was made with much fanfare on a D.S.R. car that made a special trip to Grand River and the Blvd. to call for the group. Cars of the W.B.F. took the group from Pt. Huron to the camp. Return was made on the following Sunday from Pt. Huron to Det. on the steamer Tashmoo. Class advisors were Miss Julia ? and Miss Jessie Wedin. Faculty guests were Miss Eleanor Dye and Mrs. Martha Pritchard. Other faculty members motored to the camp for dinner with the group on Sunday. This is a very capable group of young women - stylish too!! Several have become important key teachers and administrators in the Det. School system."
