Two-story clapboard building, with small bell tower on top of roof. Surrounded by wooden fence and young trees growing inside wooden supports. Sign on school reads "Clay School, established 1873." Handwritten on back: "Original Clay School, south side Pitcher St. between Cass and Second Aves., 1881, built 1873 (Farmer, p. 746), rebuilt 1888."
