Horse-drawn carriages and wagon by curb; police officer by corner; fruit stand by corner. Printed on label on mat back (blanks not filled in): "I ____ do hereby approve the within photograph of ____, as one satisfactory to have a ____ engraving made from, according to contract made with Munsell & . Co. ______." Handwritten on mat back: "Buhl Blk. S.W. cor. Griswold & Congress, 1881." Photograph and mat have crack mended with tape; scraped streaks on photograph.
