Italianate brick house viewed at an angle across intersection. Scaffolding and lumber pile. Several men walking and police officer in intersection. Handwritten on stock back: "Former mansion of Gov. Henry P. Baldwin, manufacturer and wholesaler of boots and shoes (Baldwin, McGraw & Co.). Site was formerly occupied by the large frame house of Gen. Lewis Cass, last occupied by his son Major Lewis Cass, Jr. N.W. corner of Fort & Cass Streets."
