Buildings at the corner of Griswold and Lafayette, viewed diagonally across unpaved intersection. Signs include: Wm. Archenbronn, merchant tailor; Averill Chemical Paint; W. Wade, horseshoeing; John H. Schultz, lager beer & billiards; E.H. Van Baalen. Typed on label on card back: "Southwest corner Griswold Street and Lafayette Boulevard in 1873." Handwritten on card back: "S.W. cor. Griswold & Lafayette, 1873. Site of present First State Bank (1942) (Mr. R. Burton). Purchased Sept. 42 by Mr. Gehrke for construction of Bank Bldg. (Mr. R. Burton). 9253. E709." Edges of card worn; some marks on photograph.
