Description
Ruins of Capitol High School, after it was destroyed by fire in 1893. Outer structure still standing, inner portions of building completely gone. Snow on ground, onlookers gathered around. Some of the outer structure is covered in ice. Handwritten on back: "Burned in 1893." Stamped on back: "From Alvord & Co., exclusively commercial photographers, 55 Rowland St., Detroit, Mich., ground floor."
