Michigan and First
Buildings located on the corner of Michigan and First. Handwritten on front: "This is the photograph of the buildings which occupied the site of the southwest corner of Michigan Ave. and First St. from 1851 to 1909. The main building was moved from the present site of the Metropole Hotel on Woodward Ave. about seventy-one years ago to this corner of Mich. Ave. & First St. and remained there until 1909 where it was torn down and the present Ralph Phelps Buildings, occuped by J. Brushabers Sons, was erected. Ralph Phelps, Senior, owned the property from 1851. The abstract shows only two transfers: the government to Lewis Cass, and Lewis Cass to Ralph Phelps. J. Brushabers Sons, furniture dealers, have occupied the new building since it was erected in 1909." Label on on back reads: "The Cadillac Studio, 103 Michigan Ave., Detroit, Mich."
