Handwritten on back: "East side of Woodward, old Williams house, 1913. Formerly on the site, N.W. corner of Woodward and Grand River." Affixed to back is a Detroit Free Press article dated 1931-03-22, "First mayor's home still returns rent: John R. Williams homestead stands today in midst of traffic roar."
