Address is 416-418 Grand River. Typed on label on mat back: "On wagon: Sam Ford - Redford, Mich. In front of store: John ----, John Toepel - Detroit (dead), Wesley Smith - Detroit, Andrew Tyre - Detroit, M. Wesson Dickinson - Detroit, Horace Hills Dickinson - Detroit (dead), James C. Hood - Detroit. North side of Grand River Ave., between Sixth and South Sts. 1885 [corrected from 1883]." Handwritten on mat back: "Dickinson, Horace Hills, 1853-1920, see Burton, City of Detroit, v.3 p.175." Mat has slight stain and tear; corners worn.
