Description
Two-story clapboard house with tall windows, small side and entry porch. Man and three women posing around front yard. Sign on house reads "Larned St." Railroad tracks on left side of photo, with bridge extending over them. Handwritten on back: "House at 455 E. Larned Street. Built by J.W. Marquis between 1863 and 1869 for a family home. In the 80s (1883?) the house was remodelled for 2 families, the second story being extended at back. Torn down when the 3rd R.R. track was laid for Grand Trunk R.R. this picture taken before 1880. People in picture, left to right: James Winchester Marquis, his dau. Annie A. Marquis, his wife Ellen nee Clark, his dau. Euphenia H. Marquis. The Marquis family lived in this house until 1904."
